From an early age, I’d escape to the basement of my childhood home to draw, especially on Saturdays. That’s when my dad would take me to the candy store to pick out two comic books. I’d hurry home to trace and draw the superheroes (my favorite was Spider-Man 🦸🏼‍♂️) and recreate the BAM!s and POW!s in my own designs.

I loved drawing words. For a long time, I had no idea how this would manifest into something worthwhile. It was just a lot of fun, and I was pretty good at it.

What began as Saturday sketching grew into weekend art classes in the city, and by the time high school ended, art was no longer a hobby, it was the path.

Professionally, I spent many years in the book world at Penguin Random House, where I led a design team that helped shape early digital platforms for authors and publishers. That foundation expanded into consumer marketing, which included a role as Art Director for a Webby-nominated content platform dedicated to raising kids who love to read.

Today, I’m a Senior Communications Designer at Disney+, working in the Growth Marketing team to build clear, scalable, subscriber messaging systems that prioritize both usability and voice. I believe great design should feel intuitive, intentional, and quietly confident.

If you’re still reading, here’s a little more about me… I’m a design thinker, but I still enjoy hands-on work. I dislike jargon and try to be straightforward when discussing my approach. I pride myself on being a fun and easy person to work with, and I have a persistent excitement about learning.

Oh, and I still buy comic books (and graphic novels and magazines) to swoon over the layouts and typography. Lately, I’ve been exploring AI to improve efficiency. However, technology doesn’t define good design—POW! 💥
